Training courses

Are you unsure: binding land-use plan (Bebauungsplan) or the Bau-Turbo (a fast-track building-permit provision)? What happens now with the municipal heat plan adopted by the town council? Should environmental and urban planning procedures in future be carried out with stakeholder participation? How does participation management work with “artificial intelligence” (AI)? How do I find funding for my project? You would like to refresh your knowledge on these topics and expand it in a targeted way. We support you in doing so with our training courses.

What kind of training courses are these?

Our training courses convey the legal foundations of environmental and urban planning procedures and the current trends in the modernization of municipalities and public authorities:

  • Workshops, to develop practical solutions jointly and systematically with your specialists
  • Courses for your staff, geared toward conveying practical foundational knowledge or your specific legal questions
  • Seminars, for the exchange of knowledge and experience among the participants

Which thematic focus areas are covered?

  • Environmental and urban planning procedures with stakeholder participation
  • Use of “artificial intelligence” (AI) and smart city apps in urban planning
  • Use of facilitation techniques and their fields of application in local government practice
  • Citizen participation, communication in difficult situations, dialogue management and de-escalation
  • Current legal questions in environmental and urban planning (the Bau-Turbo, digitalization, municipal heat planning, renewable energies, climate concepts, heat protection, flood and heavy-rain management, EU Nature Restoration Regulation (Wiederherstellungsverordnung))

What we offer

We organize training courses for you in the form of workshops, courses and seminars on modern environmental and urban planning procedures, ideally conveyed on the basis of concrete case examples from your own setting. The training courses take place as half-day or full-day events or as a multi-part series. Methodologically, a practical exchange of experience can be facilitated, legal foundations can be taught, or a scholarly exchange can take place, and where needed these can also be combined with one another. All offerings can be conducted as a workshop or course for a single municipality or authority, but also as an open seminar for several institutions. The number of participants depends on the chosen format and typically ranges between eight people (workshops), 20 people (courses) and up to 100 to 200 participants (seminars).

Who is it suitable for?

Our workshops, courses and seminars are aimed at planning specialists, administrative staff and decision-makers in municipalities, public authorities and associations.
