Lectures and Information Events on Current Legislation

A new law in the field of urban planning or an EU environmental regulation has entered into force and now needs to be applied right away. We provide you with an overview of current legislation in environmental and planning law, designed primarily for a professional audience but, where needed, also as an information event for the interested public or citizenry.

What topics are covered?

The range of topics extends from current developments in environmental and urban planning law to public-administration modernization, for example:

  • What does a climate protection and climate adaptation strategy contain?
  • How does a heat action plan become effective?
  • Where is construction along rivers still permitted?
  • How is the existing municipal heat plan (*Wärmeplan*) now put into practice?
  • How is the partial preparatory land-use plan used for siting renewable-energy facilities?
  • How are urban ecosystem areas integrated into urban planning under the EU Nature Restoration Regulation (*Wiederherstellungsverordnung*)?
  • How do I deploy artificial intelligence (AI) in urban planning?
  • How do I design the public participation procedure so that it fosters acceptance?
  • How do I use experimentation clauses in urban planning?

What we offer

We deliver lectures on current legislative topics for congresses, conferences or seminars, designed primarily for a professional audience. On request, we also take part in information events; these can be integrated as information for citizens within participation procedures.

Depending on the context, the lectures last between 15 minutes and 45 minutes and can be combined with a professional discussion or a question-and-answer session for the audience.

  • Short lectures (15 to 30 min.): Overview of a current topic, suitable as a program element for conferences, symposia or seminars
  • Main lectures (30 to 45 min.): Key note with original ideas or an in-depth legal presentation with practical examples and a subsequent discussion
  • Information events (30 to 90 min.): Presentation of a planning project for citizens, complemented by a question-and-answer session

All formats are tailored to the occasion, the target audience and the time frame. Presentations are provided on request.

Who is it suitable for?

The lectures are aimed at associations and companies that wish to host congresses, conferences or seminars on current legislative developments in the field of environment and urban planning. Information events are used by municipalities and public authorities that wish to inform affected citizens about a current legal topic before the start of, or within, a formal participation procedure.
